This musical special celebrates Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday. Hosted by Raul Esparza, the show is called “Take Me To The Word” and will include performances by Mandy Patinkin, Christine Baranski, Donna Murphy, Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kelli O’Hara, Aaron Tveit, Maria Friedman, Iain Armitage, Katrina Lenk, Michael Cerveris, Brandon Uranowitz, Stephen Schwartz, Elizabeth Stanley, Chip Zien, Alexander Gemignani and cast members of “Pacific Overtures” at Classic Stage Company including Ann Harada, Austin Ku, Kelvin Moon Loh and Thom Sesma. 5) The following video went instantly viral, and it all started with Boston Conservatory at Berklee composition-major Shelbie Rassler.  On a plane ride home to Florida, she had a brainstorm and went on to coordinate this inspired musical collaboration, enlisting the talents of 74 of her classmates and alums from the conservatory and college, to form a virtual orchestra and vocal ensemble. She produced, arranged, and edited the video herself to create this soaring interpretation of Burt Bacharach’s “What the world needs now.”  And how.
