Grammy Nominated NICOLAY Collaborates with Exploratory Jazz Trio THE HOT AT NIGHTS!!
to Provide SUPERBOWL  Alternative February 5 at Club Passim!!!

Not a football fan? Fear not. The Super Bowl is NOT the only show in town on Sunday, February 5. Harvard Square’s Club Passim will host a unique collaborative performance featuring Grammy-nominated music producer/performer NICOLAY and exploratory jazz-trio THE HOT AT NIGHTS. Together they will perform the music from their recent Shibuya Session EP.

Nicolay, born and raised in The Netherlands, first made his mark as a producer of electronica, R& B and hip hop.  After stints with various instruments and bands, he teamed with rapper/singer Phonte to form The Foreign Exchange. They released their critically-acclaimed album CONNECTED in 2004. This success enabled Nicolay to move to the U.S. and cut a sophomore album, Leave it All Behind, with the Grammy-nominated single “Daykeeper.”

The Hot at Nights (featuring 8-string guitar virtuoso Chris Boerner, with Matt Douglas on sax/woodwinds and Nick Baglio on drums) formed in North Carolina in the summer of 2010. The three-piece jazz outfit’s compositions are largely improvisational, though they pull from contemporary songwriters, classic funk, rock, pop, and the electric avant-garde styles that have spanned the last 30 years of contemporary jazz.

Club Passim hosts over 400 shows per year. Other shows coming to Club Passim in February include:
