WEEKEND TIPS: onstage & screen

Joyce Kulhawik October 15, 2011 0

This Saturday is your last chance to see a New England Premiere over at the SpeakEasy Stage: their excellent production of 2010 Tony nominee for best play NEXT FALL!  The drama pivots on the relationship between Adam, an atheist, and Luke a practicing Christian. It’s about the complexities of love and religion, the nature of faith, and family. The play asks the hard questions and leaves us unsettled. A moving ensemble delivers the goods– two performances Saturday October 15  4PM & 8PM Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street in Boston’s South End.  Tix/Info:  617.933.8600!

Prepare to be TINGLED! You know him, you love him, he’s been on national TV– but is a Boston boy who’s been cracking us up for years –comedian JIMMY TINGLE! His new film  JIMMY TINGLE’S AMERICAN DREAM is airing on PBS WGBH  this Saturday night at 10:00 pm EST!  Or you can drive up to the 11th annual New Hampshire Film Festival  where it’s screening this weekend in beautiful Portsmouth, NH.

Finally a NIGHT OF STARS CELEBRITY GALA ! A special evening of entertainment at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester– Saturday 10/15! with Norm Crosby, Connie Stevens, John Byner, Theodore Bikel all coming to town pro bono to help raise funds for a new food pantry and soup kitchen. Vicki Reggie Kennedy is the keynote speaker!
