I am so EXCITED!!  The hottest show on Broadway, the winner of nine Tony awards including Best Musical– THE BOOK OF MORMON— is headed to Boston as part of  the upcoming 2012-2013 Lexus Broadway Season presented by Broadway in Boston!

Plus: the winner of five Tony awards including Best Play WAR HORSE,  Tony award-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS, and Broadway’s smash hit, feel-good musical produced by Whoopi Goldberg who starred in the film version— SISTER ACT!  And remember when Boston was a try-out town and we saw it here BEFORE it went on to the great white way? Well that tradition continues next season when the first pre-Broadway tryout in years hits the COLONIAL THEATRE: the world premiere of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING!

Rounding out next season are the return engagements of JERSEY BOYS, WICKED, and MARY POPPINS!

Broadway In Boston announced its season Monday afternoon at THE OPERA HOUSE before an audience of 500 Premiere Season Ticket Holders, Arts and Entertainment leaders, V.I.P.’s, and media! We were all treated to live performances from the Broadway casts of MEMPHIS and SISTER ACT, plus a special appearance by “JOEY” the WARHORSE and a  live demonstration of the extraordinary Handspring puppet and puppeteers who bring “JOEY” to life!  I swear there was a real horse on that stage…!
