For a story even the Grinch would love, read on!

When Keds executives heard that the Urban Nutcracker, which uses its sneakers for certain characters in its holiday show, had lost all of its shoes in a mishap, they didn’t hesitate.

Within hours of hearing of the incident from a parent, the company called and offered to ship almost $1,000 worth of shoes to the production.

“We couldn’t be more grateful,” said Artistic Director Tony Williams. “We don’t have the budget to replace things like this on such short notice. ”

Happy holidays!

The Urban Nutcracker is a celebration of the holiday classic but with an inner-city edge. Set in contemporary Boston, Urban Nutcracker presents a multi-cultural interpretation of the 19th century fairy tale fusing ballet, swing, hip hop, and urban tap with the classical score of Tchaikovsky and the pulsating beat of Duke Ellington.
